Three Simple Tips to Handle a Projector Lamp

A projector lamp has a limited life and instead of regular maintenance, there comes a time when you have to replace it. To ensure that the projector lamp serves you longer, you need to handle it with care. The most important thing that you can do in this regard is to avoid using the projector for an extended period of time. It is important to ensure that the projector is not overheated. Therefore, allow it to cool down for at least 15 minutes after using it for 8 hours. The projector lamp is most susceptible while it is hot. Therefore, you should not manoeuvre the projector while it’s hot.

In this write-up, we have shared a few simple tips to handle a projector lamp.

  1. Operate your projector in a dust-free environment- Dust and dirt can damage your projector parts. Therefore, you should place the projector in an area that gets the least exposure to dust. Avoid using it near a window. If possible, you should install an air purifier in the room. And, when you are not using the projector, keep it covered with a cloth. We suggest you do not place anything near the projector as it causes the projector lamp to overheat.

  2. Clean the projector regularly- You should deep clean the projector in every few months. The projector comprises air filters that keep it cool. You need to keep them clean; otherwise, the projector will get overheated and the projector lamp will fail prematurely.

To clean the projector, a clean cloth should be used. Plus, you should wear gloves while cleaning the projector lamp; otherwise, the fingerprints from your fingers will get imprinted on the bulb. Hot spots created due to fingerprints on the surface of the lamp can lead to its premature failure.

  1. Switch off the projector properly- To switch off the projector lamp, you should not disconnect the power directly; rather, you should first press the power button of the remote. Actually, when you switch off the projector with a remote, the projector lamp will go into cool down mode. And, when the projector is switched off by disconnecting the power, the bulb will be cooled unevenly, resulting in its premature failure.

On a final note, we suggest you choose the right projector lamp while replacing it. It is recommended that you buy it from a reputed projector lamp supplier like Aussie Lamp Centre. And, in case there arises any problem with the projector, hire a qualified professional to repair it.
