Simple and Effective Tips to Maintaining Your Home Projector

Projectors are one of the most essential elements for delivering a high-quality presentation. Nowadays, their use is not limited to schools, seminars, and offices; rather, they have become an integral part of the home entertainment system. Like any other electronic device, modern projectors also require proper care and maintenance. Otherwise, they may succumb to electric current fluctuation, excessive temperature conditions, dust, and dirt. In this write-up, we have shared a few simple tips for maintaining your projector.

1. Read and follow the user manual well

While we all find it quite boring, it is important to go through the key points mentioned in the user manual. It will guide you with the right way to operate the projector. Plus, it will provide you with valuable information regarding cleaning and maintaining it. Moreover, it can provide you many DIY tips for fixing the common issues.

2. Keep your projector at a suitable location

While placing the projector, most of us focus on where the image will look best. And, we rarely focus on any other factor. Well, if you are looking to use your projector for years, then keep it at a well-ventilated place. If you are mounting it on the wall, then make sure there is a gap of at least 6 inches between the wall and the projector. Also, avoid placing it near a window or ventilator as dust, dirt, and sunlight may damage it. Also, do not place any other electronic item near the projector.

If possible, install an air filter in the room where you install your projector because electronics attract more dust than other objects.

 3. Store your projector properly

If you use your projector very rarely, then instead of keeping it open, you should either store it well or cover it with a thick cloth. Before storing it or covering it, make sure that you shut down the projector properly and allow it to cool down. When shutting down the projector, always use the power button of the remote and avoid disconnecting the power plug directly.

When storing the projector, you should use the original box and packing materials. When storing it, make sure that the storage area is cool and moisture-free.

4. Clean your projector

You should clean your projector filters regularly. Plus, make sure you remove all the dirt from the compartments they are housed in. When cleaning the filters, you can use a vacuum cleaner attachment at low pressure. Alternatively, you can clean it with soft brushes and a clean cloth.

With the above-mentioned tips in hand, you can prolong the life of your projector lamp. We suggest you do not try fixing any major projector problem yourself because the internal parts of the projector are too delicate to be handled yourself.

Also, when replacing the projector bulb, you should source a high-quality authentic product from a reputed supplier like Aussie Lamp Centre.
